Zverev Faces His Nemesis, Khachanov-Ruud and the Defending Champion: Saturday, August 2 Schedule in Toronto

As the weekend begins, the Round of 16 kicks off in the Toronto Masters 1000 draw. Four matches are set to take place on the Center Court. Starting at 6:30 PM (French time), an all-American clash will open the day between Alex Michelsen and Learner Tien.

Following that, a high-profile matchup between two Masters 1000 champions will take place, featuring Karen Khachanov and Casper Ruud. In the night session, starting at 1:00 AM in France, defending champion Alexei Popyrin—who stunned Medvedev in the previous round and remains in contention for back-to-back Canadian titles—will face Holger Rune.

Finally, Alexander Zverev, the top seed in Ontario, will have to overcome his nemesis Francisco Cerundolo. The Argentine has won all three of their previous encounters, and the German had publicly admitted that the world No. 24 is a player he hates facing on tour.

On the outer courts, doubles action will take center stage with four more matches, including the pairing of Arthur Fils and Ben Shelton. Find the full schedule for the day in Toronto below.
