Zverev: "I felt well prepared for this final".
Alexander Zverev lost the final of the Australian Open to a Jannik Sinner who was too strong for him.
In the post-match press conference, he spoke of his opponent of the day, who comforted him after the match, and his feelings about the tournament.
He said: "I was pretty depressed, maybe a little emotional.
I think he saw it and came to tell me that one day I'd lift one of these trophies, that I was too strong not to, those were his words.
It was a difficult moment for me because I really felt very prepared for this final, I really thought I'd have a very good chance.
I felt good and I had a very good feeling with the ball, I had the feeling that I could compete on equal terms.
Seeing someone lift the trophy for the third time is a very difficult moment for me. There's nothing I want more than to hold one of these titles in my hands."
