Zverev is not exactly reassuring: "In any other tournament, I wouldn't even try to play".
Despite his 6-2, 6-2 first-round win over Jesper De Jong in Hamburg, Alexander Zverev didn't exactly reassure his fans at the press conference.
Asked about the knee injury he sustained during the Wimbledon tournament, the German explained that he hadn't really recovered.
In remarks relayed by Eurosport Germany, he explained: "In the morning, during the warm-up, I wasn't feeling very well, but during the match, I felt much better.
It's going to take time. In any other tournament, I wouldn't even try to play. Hamburg is something special for me, my country."
In the Round of 16, the world number 4 will face Hugo Gaston of France.
