Zverev reaches the second round without shining!
Alexander Zverev made an excellent start to the tournament on Monday.
Although he didn't really play very well and his level of play was uneven, with a large number of unforced errors (45), the German was able to secure the essential points.
Playing against his compatriot Maximilian Marterer, he relied on a quality serve (21 aces) and an opponent who was too inconsistent (43 unforced errors) to win in just under 3 hours (6-2, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2).
In the second round, he'll face a player still well within his reach, as he'll be up against Muller or Walton.
