Zverev Ready to Rebound in Vienna and Paris: I'm Confident Everything Will Be Fine

Still hampered by back pain, Alexander Zverev has had to resort to multiple injections to continue playing. The world No. 3, determined to bounce back, is aiming for a winning return in Vienna and Paris.

Alexander Zverev's season started perfectly with a final at the Australian Open, but it later turned into a nightmare with several early exits in important events.

The German, still world No. 3, has never been able to establish himself at the table with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

The blame lies with numerous physical problems he discussed with the German newspaper Bild. Affected by back issues for several weeks, Zverev recently began treatment to ease the pain:

"The injections are working; I just received a second one. I had a lot of problems. After the Shanghai Masters 1000, I took a flight to Hamburg just to get an injection. Unfortunately, when things improve in one area, they suddenly worsen in another.

This time, I'm confident that everything will be fine, that I will return to form and play good tennis. I trained well in Saudi Arabia. Now, I will participate in indoor tournaments that I really like, such as those in Vienna and Paris, where I won last year. I think I can perform well there."

Zverev will face Jacob Fearnley tomorrow in his first round in Vienna. This will be the fourth meeting this season between the two players, with the German having won the previous three.
