Best of luck in the final Zheng.

Dayana for the win and to the AO final!!

I blame Iga for this mess. She's definitely a better player than these two but has the mental strength of a beginner.

Baseline rally games get so boring. No net play, no slicing, o variety. Just bang away all day.

That's why Ash was fun to watch. She could mix it up

A great tournament for Dayana.

I bet Osaka’s coach regrets for dumping Zheng look who’s in the final now.

go qinwen!!! so proud of her run up to the semifinals

It's not really gonna be an upset as they have happened in the previous rounds itself. Both are in their first semi final at the slams

Zheng hasn't upset anyone ranking wise on the way to SF. However I am predicting the match will not go with ranking today.

Dan, the Q is Dayana.

Christine - I would say Yastremska has a better chance in the final. She's in the SF because she's on form (taken out 3 seeds?) and she would be a huge underdog in the final. All the pressure would be on Sab. With Zheng I can't see her mentally pulling off a slam unless it were almost handed to her by collapse of others.

Also with the qualifier, yes she's a qualifier, but she was top 30 for best part of a year and a half a few years back before the doping hearing that was cleared and the disruption due to the war etc. There is definitely some underlying quality to her game.

So. If Dayna goes to the final it will be a very awkward situation after the match...given the Ukrainian invasion. The award ceremony will be difficult

I heard a junior Ukrainian player was reprimanded for shaking hands after a match.

Such a horrid situation.

Aryna will pounce on those serves.

As for Iga, when she's wiping players off the court she's fine. It's during tight matches that she gets overwhelmed. Frustrating for sure to see her game get so tight and her nerves go haywire.

God forbid the opponent fights back or hits too hard, Iga falls apart.

Christine. Actually a double bagel final would not be the first. Remember graf FO 88? Same year she took the 4 slams.

Sab, in my opinion, has never been that skillful of a player. Her advantage as I see it mostly comes from her strength, stamina, and aggression. Kind of like hitting a genetic lottery and choosing the right sport to shine. Her against Serena would have been an interesting watch.

That was an incredible tournament, Dayana. What a run these 2 weeks 💛

Dayana, for the win & qualify for the Final ✌️

I keep thinking Zheng is a Q for Qualifier doh
Christine N
I have made that mistake too. About that Q.
Christine N
It's a toss up for me. Can either of these women give Aryna a match?
Christine N
Both playing with house money.

What is up with the serves?
