Rod Laver was asked who he thought would win the tournament before the Aus started. His pick was Roger. Is he onto something???

Shoaib, Even if Federer loses then Stan will thrash and decimate Nadal in the final. Federer is a lot more consistent in reaching the semis and finals unlike nadal who is prone to injury and inconsistency plagues him. Howw on earth u don't coronate Federer as the greatest when the likes of Rod Laver, Boris Becker, Pete Sampras already termed him as the greatest. Can anyone in this modern day generation have a lot of skills in their repertoire and manifest those skills with elegance and class?

Zverev's Plan A won't work on Roger. He's going to need a Plan B if he thinks he can trip up this Goat! And probably a Plan C and D.

Fed has this. He'll be in the semi final. The winner out of Milos and Rafa will be in the final. Unless it's a marathon then maybe Dimitrov has a chance in the semi. Tsonga and Stan who the bloody hell knows

Come on guys??? U seriously think that Stan will beat Roger??? I don't think so. I admit that Stan is very very dangerous player but you will see that Roger will win. This is his grand slam and nobody can stop him from reaching the final. On the other hand, there is more tension as Raonic is too good but Rafa have to win, since people are dying to watch Fedal final !! Don't you guys want these two legends playing in a grand slam final??

My view is that I can't see Micha having anything that challenges Fed.

His game was perfect for Andy's counter punch approach

To all the blind federer harlots that don't know what else to say except throw shade about everyone else. You can kiss my peachy buns.

We would not have this issue right now if Novak didn't decide to go from one of the most dominant players in the open era to just challenger level BS right after he won the French last year

Roger needs to work on his first serve percentage.
He'll be punished against Stan if he plays at this level. It was in the mid 30s earlier in the match.

And just for the information of some day dreamers here, Stan v Fed is not nearly as bad a match up for Stan as Fed v Rafa is for Fed.

Rafa's game plan against Fed is as predictable as sunrise.
High top spins to Roger's backhand again and again and again.
Pin Fed to that end of the court then whip a blistering forehand winner.
Roger knows it.
Objective tennis fans know it.
Delusional fans never admit it.

For Fed to clinch no 18, he needs to beat Stan and hope Rafa doesn't get to the finals.
No way Federer beats Nadal over five sets.

FYI:
Fed fan since 2005.

As a die hard federer fan .. i have always believed that the outcome of any tournament rests in his hands, but wawrinka changed my opinion, he's a different kind of freak and i hope he dosen't show up for the semis .

Are we seeing the vintage Federer back to business he has now the golden chance to get his 18th GS if he continues to win such games #18thSlamOnTheWay

We were around 15 metres from the Zverev camp, those boys have a great Mum, she was just thrilled with the tennis she seen tonight, even though her son lost. She honestly smiled and laughed through Roger's court side chat, it was wonderful to see

Hi Anderson, You are spot-on with the analysis. But there are slender options that Federer needs to have a stranglehold in that matchup. His serve is a potent weapon even now. He can dictate the points with his serve towards the backhand of Nadal in the ad court and doing the same in the deuce court. This will allow Federer's forehand to come into play. Federer is also accoutred with a formidable game at the net. He can finish off the points very quickly by foraying to the net in an unpredictable way by putting Nadal in disconcerted positionn if he can't reign supreme from the back of the court. Please note that he has the best slice backhand and volley in the business right now. And also Nadal has the proclivity to stand way behind the baseline it will create a lot of opportunities for Federer to be ultra aggressive in his game plan.

Stan won't trouble fed much but it won't b easy for fed.... But expect fed to pull
