Nadal Undergoes Right Hand Surgery Before Heading to Saudi Arabia for the Next Gen ATP Finals
Rafael Nadal is enjoying his retirement. The Spanish legend played the last match of his career in November 2024 during the Davis Cup quarterfinals against the Netherlands.
Honored by the Roland-Garros organization last May for his numerous feats on the Parisian clay, Nadal will be present in Saudi Arabia next week. The former world number one will indeed be the guest of honor at the Next Gen ATP Finals.
Nadal Undergoes Hand Surgery in Barcelona
As an ambassador for the Saudi tennis federation, he still had to go through the Teknon clinic in Barcelona. Indeed, as reported by the Iberian press in recent hours, the king of clay had to undergo surgery on his right hand this Thursday, December 11.
The 39-year-old Spaniard was suffering from severe osteoarthritis in the trapeziometacarpal joint. The operation was successful, and Nadal now awaits to depart for the Middle East in the coming days.
