Insolite - Sinner doesn't forget Kalinskaya!
Jannik Sinner isn't just thinking about himself. After winning the title for the first time in his grass-court career on Sunday, he also had a word for his girlfriend, Anna Kalinskaya, who was beaten in the Berlin final.
Having just won the title in Halle, overcoming Hubert Hurkacz in the final (7-6, 7-6), the Transalpine briefly addressed the Russian player at the prize-giving ceremony.
As a reminder, despite several title shots, Kalinskaya was cruelly defeated by Pegula in the final (6-7, 6-4, 7-6).
As a great gentleman, Sinner declared: "My girlfriend, Anna (Kalinskaya), was playing in the final in Berlin today, and she lost after having six match points. So I'm really sorry for her.
But she also had an extraordinary week. I'm proud of her.
