I am a victim and I am completely innocent," says the photographer who caused the interruption of the match between Bonzi and Medvedev, explaining himself.

I am a victim and I am completely innocent, says the photographer who caused the interruption of the match between Bonzi and Medvedev, explaining himself.

This will undoubtedly be one of the iconic images of the 2025 US Open.

A photographer, who entered the court between two serves by Benjamin Bonzi on match point against Daniil Medvedev, caused a real scene of chaos on Louis Armstrong Stadium.

The chair umpire, who had noticed the photographer's movements, decided to award Bonzi two serves. That was all it took for Medvedev to lose his temper and rally the crowd with him.

Selcuk Acar, a freelance photographer, was quickly asked to leave the court before having his accreditation revoked for the remainder of the tournament.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, he broke his silence, denouncing an injustice: "I am a victim and I am completely innocent. The incident has already turned into a witch hunt, and although I am innocent, I am suffering greatly.

If there is a camera in that location, if it is checked, it will show that I went back to the security agent twice and did not enter. I am not a photojournalist who would make such a mistake."

He also insisted that the mistake was made by the security agent, who informed him that the "match was over.

Even if he had been told the match was over he doesn't know much about the game if he couldn't see before he got on court that they were still playing

Exactly. If you just look at the court, you can see two players on the court and a packed stadium.

Nonsense. The stadium doesn't clear the moment the match is over as you suggest.
