"I think I can reach an optimal level for the US Open," Djokovic confident about the rest of his season
Novak Djokovic is still chasing his 25th Grand Slam title. The 38-year-old Serb, who last won a Major at the 2023 US Open, reached the semifinals of the first three Grand Slams this season but failed to advance further in Melbourne, Paris, and London.
At Roland Garros and Wimbledon, he fell in straight sets to world No. 1 Jannik Sinner just shy of the final. Hampered by a hamstring injury at the Australian Open, he was forced to retire against Alexander Zverev.
During the latter stages of his quarterfinal match against Flavio Cobolli, Djokovic took a fall on Centre Court at Wimbledon, raising concerns among fans about his fitness—especially after the Serbian champion had to cancel his practice session the day before his semifinal. In a post-match press conference following his loss to the Roland Garros finalist, Djokovic shared his outlook for the rest of the season.
"I never really considered not stepping onto the court. I wasn’t feeling that bad. I couldn’t practice yesterday (Thursday), but during the warm-up, I felt decent. I wasn’t sure how my leg would react. I played mostly in a static position and didn’t move too much during the warm-up.
"But by the middle of the first set, when I had to make more aggressive movements—especially on my forehand side, where I had to push off—that’s when I felt my condition worsening. The first six or seven games actually went fine, but after that, it wasn’t the case anymore.
"I don’t think this will keep me off the court for too long. Unfortunately, I’ve had similar injuries recently, but I’ve managed to come back relatively quickly. I believe I can reach an optimal level for the US Open, so I can compete at the highest level," he told Clay.

What about the other 5 losses against the same player.. LoL, looks like I'll enjoy the beating his ass takes at US open once more😅
As long as Novak plays, there is always a bit of a chance to win.
We can't say the same for Rafael, who will be forever left without any ATP finals......LOL.
Enjoy....
