During the 2024 season, Nick Kyrgios, recovering from a wrist injury, was a consultant for the BBC at Wimbledon and for ESPN at the Australian Open and US Open.
Now back on the courts this year, the Australian, entered in both the singles and doubles draw in Melbourne, will not be part of the ESPN team.
As pointed out by journalist Jon Wertheim, active male and female players who are eliminated from the tournament can continue to act as consultants for the rest of the fortnight.
This will not be the case for Kyrgios, even if he is eliminated at the start of the Australian Open.
