Videos - Mpetshi Perricard really is the king of aces!
"This guy's going to be a problem for a long time. I've played Raonic, Isner, Karlovic, all these big servers, and he's got the biggest serve by far." These were the words used by Nick Kyrgios in the press conference to review the performance of Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, who defeated the Australian in 3 sets (7-6, 6-7, 7-6).
Considered one of the great revelations of 2024, the Frenchman, now 31ᵉ world player, once again impressed on serve. In a duel of servers, he seemed even more at ease than Kyrgios in this compartment of the game and will face Frances Tiafoe for a place in the quarter-finals.
He was particularly impressive with his "ace game". Indeed, at 4-4 in the last set, the Tricolore simply slammed 4 aces, winning his first game without having to play a single rally (see video below).
