Kyrgios: "Some players lose their heads because the season is too long".
In a post-match conference following his loss to Mpetshi Perricard, Nick Kyrgios was asked about his view of the tennis calendar and how he approaches it.
The Australian replied: "Personally, I don't play for points. I played in the Wimbledon final, even though I wasn't seeded. The most important thing is to be healthy.
Tennis is absurd compared to other sports, the amount of traveling we do, taking into account that we don't get paid for what we're supposed to get, which is a joke.
It's a tough sport, especially if you're from Australia, you don't see your family and friends for six, seven or eight months, if you're playing full-time.
At the end of the season, you see guys like Medvedev, who play with the racket upside down. Some players lose their heads because the season is too long. I think everyone agrees with me on that.
