Rinderknech before Belgium: "It's a single-day tie, we must not mess up"

On the eve of an important quarter-final against Belgium in Bologna, Arthur Rinderknech gave an interview to our colleagues at L'Équipe.

Asked about his first face-to-face with the Davis Cup trophy, the Frenchman said this: "It's magnificent. I had never seen it so close. I took a few photos. It's the most beautiful thing about this competition. So there are a lot of stars in our eyes, dreams and desires, obviously."

And he talks about this final phase as a personal grail:

"It's a single-day tie, so we must not mess up. With three points at stake, every match is super important. It will be physical, it will be intense. But it's mostly about pleasure. We worked hard in February, we worked hard in September.

I've been chasing this final phase since my debut. We are finally here. The Belgians have an impeccable state of mind. I think it's time to enjoy it, to give everything, to leave everything on the court to bring these points and these victories back to France."
