Cazaux solid against McDonald: Frenchman triumphs at Jinan Challenger

Arthur Cazaux has won his first title in 2025 after his success against Mackenzie McDonald in Jinan.
French tennis shone throughout the week. While Hugo Gaston is in the final of the Roanne Challenger and Arthur Rinderknech is of course qualified for the final of the Shanghai Masters 1000, another French player was on the courts this Sunday to play a final.
That player is Arthur Cazaux. The Frenchman, impeccable throughout the week, had defeated Blanchet, Draxl, Zhou Yi and Mochizuki to reach the final of the Jinan Challenger.
Facing Mackenzie McDonald, world number 99 and the 6th seed, Cazaux made his superiority tell to win in two sets despite a tight match where the Frenchman needed five match points to clinch victory (6-3, 6-2 in 1h30).
The 23-year-old player, ranked 70th in the world before the tournament, thus wins his first title of the season, having lost only one set all week. Cazaux has thus built up plenty of confidence before playing the Almaty tournament, where he will face Shintaro Mochizuki in the first round.
