Draw for the ATP 250 Tournament in Almaty: Defending Champion Khachanov, Medvedev, Moutet, and a Reunion for Cazaux
Next week, the ATP 250 tournament in Almaty, Kazakhstan, will take place. Despite withdrawals from Alexander Bublik and Jordan Thompson, among others, the draw remains competitive, notably featuring defending champion Karen Khachanov.
The Russian, the number 1 seed, will enter the competition in the round of 16 against the winner of the match between Jan-Lennard Struff and Mackenzie McDonald. Seeded number 8, Corentin Moutet will begin his tournament against a qualifier and could face Laslo Djere or Alexander Shevchenko if he advances.
Another French player in the draw is Arthur Cazaux. The Frenchman, who qualified for the final of the Jinan Challenger at the expense of Shintaro Mochizuki, will face the Japanese player again in the first round of this tournament in the coming days.
Last year's finalist, Gabriel Diallo, will start his campaign in the first round against Amir Omarkhanov. Also notable are the presences of Flavio Cobolli, Brandon Nakashima, Alex Michelsen, and Daniil Medvedev in the draw.
The Russian is still in contention at the Shanghai Masters 1000 and will play his semifinal against Arthur Rinderknech in the coming hours. Find the complete draw for the Almaty tournament below.
