Daniil Medvedev shared his thoughts with the Russian media Championat. After winning the Almaty tournament, the Russian will arrive in Vienna with physical fatigue, but with renewed confidence.

He explained: "I'll play in Vienna on Wednesday. It's a bit of a roller coaster here: sometimes you arrive early for a tournament, like the US Open, and you have two weeks to prepare. You play very poorly, but you're in top physical shape.

And here, I certainly won't be physically ready, but since I've gained confidence, I can win. So I'll try to win."

Medvedev will face Nuno Borges in the first round in Vienna.
