"Success is simply being better than yesterday," says Swiatek ahead of her start at the WTA Finals
After winning the Masters in 2023, Swiatek hopes to win the WTA Finals for the second time in her career, which would confirm her strong finish to the season.
Despite a complicated first half of the season, Iga Swiatek is second in the Race and will play her first match of the WTA Finals against Madison Keys in Riyad in the coming hours. The Polish player took stock of her 2025 season just days before the end of the year.
"I was fortunate to play several finals this season, I'm very proud of myself. The fact that I've been able to stay in the top 10 since the beginning of the year gives me a lot of satisfaction, and I hope to continue like this.
Of course, there have been ups and downs; the first part of the season was complicated for me. I had played several semi-finals but without winning a single title. On the other hand, I won Wimbledon, which for me is twice as important as winning any other tournament.
I consider this season a success, even though there is still one tournament left to play. I've understood that I can't win all the time, that I can do good work and still lose. On the other side of the net, there's always a formidable opponent.
Success is simply being better than yesterday. Success is also achieving certain goals that have nothing to do with the final score or winning, like the entire process you apply to become a better player," Swiatek stated to Punto de Break.
