Davidovich Fokina silences Cazaux and the Nanterre crowd!

In a boiling atmosphere, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina ended Arthur Cazaux's run at the Rolex Paris Masters.

The world No. 15 wins 7-6(5), 6-4 and joins Alexander Zverev in the round of 16, after a tense match.

From the first exchanges, the Défense Arena was on fire. Carried by a crowd entirely on his side, Arthur Cazaux delivered an intense first set. But facing him, the Spaniard remained solid to take the advantage (7-5 in the tie-break).

Cazaux, world No. 62, tried, but without success. An early break in the second set then sealed the fate of the match.

Davidovich Fokina thus records his 6th victory in his last 7 matches and will face Zverev again in the round of 16, an opponent he knows well, but against whom he has stumbled many times (a 1-5 record against the German).
