Video - Dimitrov Returns to Training Ahead of His Big Comeback to Competition in Paris
Absent from the tour since Wimbledon, Grigor Dimitrov is indeed present in the French capital.
We last saw Dimitrov in tears and forced to retire in the Wimbledon round of 16 against Jannik Sinner. While he was playing a very high-level match against the Italian, the Bulgarian, who was leading two sets to love, then injured his pectoral muscles on a serve and was unable to continue the match. Since then, the 34-year-old player, now ranked 37th in the world, has not played a single match.
Having withdrawn from the US Open and three Masters 1000 events (Toronto, Cincinnati, and Shanghai), the 2017 ATP Finals winner will indeed be present at the Paris Masters 1000, as he has been training in recent hours. For his return to competition, he will face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the brand-new venue hosting the tournament at La Défense Arena.
