Bencic moved after her Abu Dhabi title: "It was a great dream to play in front of my daughter".

Belinda Bencic won the WTA 500 Abu Dhabi on Saturday, beating Ashlyn Krueger in the final.

The Swiss, who made her return to competition last November after giving birth to her daughter Bella, claimed the ninth title of her career.

But this one has a more special symbolism than the others, as she expressed at the trophy ceremony:

"I'm very happy to be back here in Abu Dhabi. I couldn't have imagined all this, so I'm a bit emotional. I've worked very hard to be able to play again.

Winning this title in front of my family is a very special moment. I can't thank them enough for all the support they've given me this week.

And I'd like to thank my coach Ian, I think we've worked really hard to play here again.

To my family back home, to my whole team, to the people who help me. And, of course, to my husband and my daughter, Bella. I love you all so much.

It was a big dream for me, to come back, play in front of her and win the tournament."
