Masters 1000: Vacherot Nears a Record Held by Djokovic, Federer, and Hewitt

We often talk about Djokovic or Federer when it comes to Masters 1000 records. But an unexpected name is now joining the list.

Valentin Vacherot, a discreet player on the tour, has just equaled a statistical achievement that only three tennis greats have accomplished since 1990.

The number is as follows: five consecutive wins after losing the first set in a Masters 1000. A very rare feat that the 26-year-old Monegasque has just achieved, thus joining a trio composed of Lleyton Hewitt, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic, each of whom has achieved six similar streaks (since 1990).

In other words, only three men in modern tennis history have done better than him.
