Félix Auger-Aliassime Narrowly Escapes in Brussels

In a very tight match in Brussels, Félix Auger-Aliassime came close to an upset against Damir Dzumhur. After yet another tie-break, the Canadian recorded his 15th victory in a decisive set this season.

On the main court in Brussels, Félix Auger-Aliassime showcased his mental strength. Facing Damir Dzumhur, a former world No. 23, the Canadian won 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 after an intense battle marked by two tie-breaks.

Although he could have folded, Félix Auger-Aliassime held on. Against an inspired Dzumhur, the Canadian pulled through despite losing the second set and missing numerous break opportunities (1/14). However, with 15 victories in decisive sets on the ATP Tour this year, Félix joins Carlos Alcaraz and Nuno Borges at the top of this ranking.

Finally, this victory has a special flavor. Not only does it allow him to reach the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 tournament in Brussels, but it also keeps his chances alive for the ATP Finals. Now ranked 10th in the Race, Auger-Aliassime is highly hopeful of qualifying for the "tournament of masters" from November 9 to 16.
