100th win, 35 games, 3 surfaces: Key numbers from Swiatek's Wimbledon victory
With her first Wimbledon title marking her 100th Grand Slam win, Swiatek has now joined the prestigious list of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club champions.
After five Major titles, the Polish star had been desperately dreaming of success on grass—a surface she took time to master. Now a champion on three different surfaces, she has become the 8th player in the Open Era to win Grand Slam titles on hardcourt, clay, and grass.
But that’s not all. At just 24 years old, Swiatek achieved glory at the legendary English tournament while conceding only 35 games. For comparison, no female player has done better since 1990. Before that year, seven players surpassed this stat, including Navratilova with 25 games conceded in 1983 and Evert with 26 games lost in 1981.
Additionally, she has joined the ranks of Court, Federer, and Seles among players who won their first six Grand Slam finals.
