"200 Wins on Hard Court": Sinner Right Behind Medvedev
At just 24 years old, Jannik Sinner has just recorded his 200th win on hard court since 2020. An impressive performance that places him right behind Russian Daniil Medvedev.
By defeating Terence Atmane in three sets (6-4, 5-7, 6-0) in the second round of the ATP 500 in Beijing, Jannik Sinner reached the milestone of 200 victories on this surface since the start of the 2020 season. A feat that only Daniil Medvedev had accomplished before him (208 wins).
This number reflects the consistency, steadiness, and evolution of a player whom many saw as a rising star a few years ago, but whose statistics now place him among the absolute benchmarks of the ATP tour.
Since 2020, Sinner has strung together full seasons, finals, and standout performances. The fact that only Medvedev reached this mark before him is anything but insignificant. It also means that Carlos Alcaraz has not (yet) reached this level of consistency on hard court, the premier surface of the modern tour.
At this rate, Sinner could surpass Medvedev by the end of the season and become the undisputed leader on hard court.
