31st Consecutive Challenger Win for Griekspoor, Defeats Harris in Bordeaux

Tallon Griekspoor, ranked 35th in the world, is in Bordeaux this weekend to compete in the Challenger tournament held in Gironde. Seeded third, the Dutchman received a first-round bye and faced Billy Harris, who had stunned Stan Wawrinka in the opening round (3-6, 6-2, 6-1).
Without being seriously challenged, Griekspoor secured a straight-sets victory (6-3, 6-4) without conceding a single break point, advancing to the quarterfinals. For a spot in the semifinals, Griekspoor—who hit 27 winners and committed 13 unforced errors—will face either Hugo Gaston or Terence Atmane.
Most notably, this win extends the 28-year-old’s incredible Challenger streak. With today’s victory over the Brit, Tallon Griekspoor has now won 31 consecutive matches on the Challenger circuit.
He is currently on a run of six titles in this category (Murcia 2021, Naples 2021, Naples 2 2021, Tenerife 2021, Bratislava 2021, and Amersfoort 2022), though he had not played a Challenger tournament in nearly three years.
