A Nadal Racquet Sold for a Record Amount

Amid the excitement of the Roland-Garros final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, Rafael Nadal received a nice paycheck on his end.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion sold the racquet he used to win the 2017 Roland-Garros final against Stan Wawrinka. The price? $157,333, or approximately €137,000. This racquet was also used by the Spaniard in Miami and Madrid that same year.

This marks a record in auction history, as the most expensive racquet ever sold already belonged to Nadal. It was the one from the 2022 Australian Open, which had fetched €122,000.

Prestige Memorabilia, the auction organizer, has now completed the biggest sale in its history.
