A performance like that doesn't just fall from the sky, Auger-Aliassime savors after his win against Zverev

Félix Auger-Aliassime eliminated Alexander Zverev in the third round of the US Open. The Canadian struggled at the start of the match but ultimately turned the situation around in four sets against the world number 3 (4-6, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4), who had previously reached the second week in New York for five consecutive years.

Before facing Andrey Rublev for a spot in the quarterfinals in the coming hours, the 25-year-old player reflected on his prestigious victory achieved in recent hours against the German.

"This victory gives me a lot of confidence, of course. I always try to be ambitious, professional, and pay attention to the smallest details over the years. It can be frustrating when things don’t go as you want, but that’s part of life for the majority of players.

You have to know how to accept it to stay humble in defeat. It’s not completely different from when I was younger; it’s the same process. You have to be patient and trust everything you work on in training, because one day it will inevitably pay off in a match.

That’s the only way results eventually come. To be honest, I thought a bit too much about my first-round loss in Toronto. Since then, I’ve been training well, but the only truth is on the court during tournaments.

In my mind, I only focus on the current tournament, and you have to forget the past—that’s what I did in Cincinnati. Over the weeks, I’ve seen things more clearly in my mind; I’ve understood my game and the way I want to play better.

A performance like that doesn’t just fall from the sky; it’s a whole process. But you never know what your level of play will be in a specific match," Auger-Aliassime stated to Punto de Break.

Hello I'm new

4j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
