A special thank you to my brother who is in Imola for Formula 1 rather than here": Sinner's humorous touch during his speech in Rome
For his first tournament since his suspension, Jannik Sinner was defeated in the final of the Rome Masters 1000 by Carlos Alcaraz.
The world No. 1, who had strung together victories against Cerundolo (18th), Ruud (7th), and Paul (12th), fell to a stronger opponent this Sunday, even though the first set, lasting 1 hour and 10 minutes, was extremely tight. During his post-match speech, Sinner naturally congratulated his opponent and thanked his loved ones.
He also had a message for his brother Mark, who was absent from this final for a very specific reason:
"I’d like to give a special thank you to my brother, who, instead of being here, chose to go to Imola to watch Formula 1.
