Achilles Tendon Surgery, Rune Begins His Rehabilitation
Ten days after his terrible Achilles tendon rupture during the semifinal of the ATP 250 in Stockholm against Ugo Humbert, the Dane has already returned to the gym.
The 22-year-old prodigy, forced to retire after feeling a sharp jolt in his leg, underwent surgery. A serious injury, meaning the end of his season and long months of rehabilitation.
On his X account (formerly Twitter), Holger Rune posted a series of photos illustrating the beginning of his rehabilitation. In these pictures, he is seen, still wearing his brace, working with resistance bands, and also with electrodes.
Tennis specialists know: an Achilles tendon rupture is one of the most feared injuries for a player. The recovery is long and uncertain. But for others like Mouratoglou, this unfortunate event could allow him to work on himself and come back stronger than ever.
