Holger Rune will not be taking part in the ATP 500 Rio, which starts on Monday.
The Dane, beaten yesterday in his opening match in Buenos Aires by Mariano Navone, has decided to bring his South American clay-court tour to a premature end.
The official account of the Brazilian tournament announced the Dane's withdrawal on Friday, as he explained on his social networks that he didn't feel physically well during his match yesterday.
The world No. 12 will now take a break, but could return to the courts in ten days' time for the ATP 500 Acapulco (February 24 - March 1), where he is on the tournament's entry list.
