Alcaraz beats Vavassori to reach the quarter-finals of the Rotterdam tournament

Carlos Alcaraz continues to make headway in Rotterdam. The Spaniard, number 3 in the world and seeded number 1 in the Netherlands, confirmed his inaugural success against Botic van de Zandschulp.
Opposed to Andrea Vavassori, who had benefited from Auger-Aliassime's withdrawal in the first round, Alcaraz held his nerve in this match.
The four-time Grand Slam winner was on top form from the outset, imposing his rhythm from the outset to literally disembowel his opponent, ranked 317th in the world and a qualifier for this Rotterdam tournament.
After just 1h04 of play, Alcaraz, who saved the only break point he conceded, won without a moment's hesitation (6-2, 6-1).
This is the 42nd quarter-final on the ATP circuit for the 21-year-old Alcaraz, who now awaits the winner of the final round of 16 between Holger Rune and Pedro Martinez for a place in the last four.
As a reminder, the other three matches on Friday in Rotterdam will pit De Minaur against Altmaier, Tsitsipas against Bellucci and Hurkacz against Rublev.
