Alcaraz confirms that both he and Sinner suffered cramps
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner both looked physically unwell during their clash in the French Open semi-finals. The Spaniard, who won in 4 hours and 5 sets (2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3), confirmed this in his post-match interview.
Carlos Alcaraz: "Yes, I cramped up, and so did Jannik, in the 3rd set. But I've learnt from last year's match against Djokovic (also in the semi-finals, he was plagued by cramps and couldn't defend his chances to the full) where I felt the same as today.
At that moment, you have to stay calm and tell yourself that it's going to go away. And stay present to keep fighting. But, yes, it was a bit of a weird moment. Then, in the 4th and 5th sets, it was a really good level."
