Alcaraz could soon break Nadal's record

Rafael Nadal, recently retired, achieved numerous records and feats during his career. His compatriot, Carlos Alcaraz, is following in his footsteps.
Often compared to his elder, he is destined for a great career. Already winner of the French Open, Wimbledon (twice) and the US Open, Alcaraz's list of honours only lacks the Australian Open.

If he wins it, he will have achieved the Grand Slam, i.e. won all four Grand Slam tournaments. This feat was achieved by Nadal at the age of 24 in 2010, when he won the US Open.
He is the youngest player to achieve the Grand Slam in the Open era. However, Alcaraz could beat this record if he wins the Australian Open before 2027 (the year he turns 24).
