"Alcaraz has a slight psychological advantage," says Binaghi, head of Italian tennis, ahead of the US Open final
For the third time this season, viewers will be treated to a Sinner-Alcaraz showdown in a Grand Slam final. A highly anticipated matchup commented on by Angelo Binaghi, president of the Italian Tennis Federation.
"On Sunday, we will have a great champion in incredible form, with the goal of retaining or reclaiming the world number one spot. I think this is a slight psychological advantage for Alcaraz. We will surely see them again in the ATP Finals later on. In the meantime, Carlos will have to play the Davis Cup next week while we are already qualified for the finals in November."
For reference, the Spaniard leads 9-5 in their head-to-head matchups but recently lost in the Wimbledon final to the world number one.
The match will take place this Sunday starting at 8 p.m. (French time).
