"Oh my girl... We're going to drink," the amusing exchange between Sabalenka and Stephens at the US Open
After her second triumph at the US Open, Sabalenka made the media rounds. Present on the ESPN set, the Belarusian responded to the 2017 champion, Sloane Stephens.
Indeed, the latter asked the recent winner how she planned to celebrate this new victory. To which Sabalenka replied:
"Oh my girl... We're going to drink. There's a club not far from here. I'm going to have fun. We have to enjoy it. There's been a lot of work, and now it's time to have a few days to celebrate and digest this."
For context, after two lost finals this season (Australia, Roland-Garros), Sabalenka finally prevailed at Flushing Meadows against Anisimova (6-3, 7-6), thus retaining her title in the tournament.
