Alcaraz Must Achieve Something He Has Never Done in His Career to Win Roland Garros
In this 2025 Roland Garros final, world No. 1 Jannik Sinner got off to the better start. The Italian was rock-solid, fending off Alcaraz’s comeback in the second set. The Spaniard had rallied from 2-5 to 5-5, but Sinner proved mentally stronger, clinching the set 7-4 in the tiebreak to take a two-set lead.
Now, Alcaraz is with his back against the wall. The Spaniard can no longer afford any mistakes if he wants to turn the match around, but he will need to pull off a remarkable feat to win in Paris for the second consecutive year. Indeed, the world No. 2 has never recovered from a two-set deficit in his career.
The task is even more daunting given that the Australian Open champion has not dropped a single set in this Parisian fortnight (20 sets won out of 20 played). On a streak of 31 consecutive sets won in Grand Slams, Sinner is just one set away from securing his 21st straight Grand Slam victory.
