Alcaraz – Sinner: A Rivalry Already Etched in Stone

They are not yet 25 years old, but Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner already dominate world tennis like established champions.

In the space of two seasons, the Spaniard and the Italian have shared all the Grand Slam tournaments, establishing themselves as the two faces of a new post-Big Three era.

That's why one question is now on everyone's lips: who will end their career with the most Grand Slam titles?

Baghdatis Gives His Opinion: 'I Would Say Alcaraz'

Former Australian Open finalist and respected figure on the tour, Marcos Baghdatis spoke in an interview with Tennis365. And his answer, although nuanced, is clear.

'It's very difficult to say. I would say Alcaraz, because he has more variety in his game. Mentally, however, he is perhaps less consistent than Sinner: that is something that could work against him. That said, my choice still goes to Alcaraz.'

Sinner, the Mental Machine That Never Lets Go

But if Baghdatis leans towards Alcaraz, he implicitly highlights what makes Jannik Sinner's formidable strength: his mental game.

Rarely caught off guard in key moments, the Italian excels in long matches, especially in Grand Slams, where consistency and discipline often make the difference.

A Third Man to Shake Up the Duel?

Baghdatis doesn't stop there. Asked about the possibility of seeing another player break into this anticipated duel, he stated:

'Perhaps João Fonseca. He is one of those who could break into the rivalry, and I think he will.

Other than him, especially in a Grand Slam where it's best of five sets, I don't see who can stop Alcaraz and Sinner. Maybe Zverev could win. But it will be really difficult.'

So Baghdatis has given his analysis. But as we know, tennis is an unpredictable sport that will surely give us surprises.

Hello I'm new

7j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....
