João Fonseca, the name already shaking up the ATP tour

At just 19 years old, João Fonseca is no longer a secret to insiders. The Brazilian has become, in the space of a season, one of the young faces of world tennis.

Indeed, after his first real year on the professional tour, he already boasts an impressive record:

Wins in ATP 250 and ATP 500 tournaments. A victory in all four Grand Slam tournaments and a meteoric rise in the ATP rankings.

Sinner's secret prediction revealed by Darren Cahill

But what is also unprecedented is Sinner's confidence on this matter last January.

Indeed, midway through the 2025 Australian Open, Darren Cahill, the Italian's coach, had said this on ESPN:

"I asked Jannik where he saw Joao Fonseca finishing at the end of the year." To which he replied: "He will finish in the Top 25 in the world."

ATP Ranking: Sinner was right

And a few months later, the verdict is in. The ATP ranking is clear: João Fonseca indeed finishes the season in the Top 25 in the world (24th).

Hello I'm new

7j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....
