Alcaraz reaches the Round of 16 in Paris
Without playing his best tennis, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Nicolas Jarry (7-5, 6-1) in the first match of the night session.
The world no. 2 had started the match in the best possible way, breaking early on, but it was when he was serving for the set (5-3) that he lost the thread of his tennis.
A double fault by the Chilean took the first set 7-5 after almost an hour's play.
In the second set, Alcaraz quickly broke Jarry on his only two opportunities.
The Spaniard is now through to the last 16 of the Paris Masters 1000, where he awaits the winner of the match between Ugo Humbert and Marcos Giron.
