Alcaraz responds to criticism of his documentary: "I've learned not to think about what people might say"
Following the release of his documentary on Netflix, Alcaraz faced a wave of criticism. Many have accused the Spaniard of having a lifestyle incompatible with high-level sports. He addressed these comments during a press conference in Rome:
"One of the things I’ve learned is not to think about what people say, except for those in my close circle—my team, my family, or my friends. Yes, I’ve heard both good and bad things about this documentary.
But I just try to stay on my own path. Sometimes, people thought the way I saw things—like enjoying life—could make me seem unprofessional.
I wouldn’t call it a battle, but rather a conversation we have among players and coaches about this topic. Still, it’s not the only one. We talk about everything—tournaments, training, and things I probably shouldn’t do.
Anyone who claims they don’t have these kinds of conversations is lying. I think it’s good to have a mix of feelings and different perspectives. In the end, we’re all on the same path, all together, so I think that’s what matters most."
