Next week, the third Grand Slam of the season kicks off at Wimbledon. In the British capital, players competing in both singles draws will aim to follow in the footsteps of Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova on the honors list.

The schedule for the first day, set for Monday, June 30, has been unveiled by the tournament organizers. On Centre Court, as tradition dictates, the reigning men's singles champion will open the proceedings.

Thus, Carlos Alcaraz will face Fabio Fognini at 2:30 PM French time, followed by the day's other matches. Katie Boulter will take on Paula Badosa in one of the standout first-round clashes in the women's draw. Finally, Alexander Zverev will play in the evening against Arthur Rinderknech.

On Court 1, Aryna Sabalenka will meet Canadian qualifier Carson Branstine. The world No. 1, absent from the London grass courts last year, will make her return and attempt to advance to the next round. Another intriguing matchup will feature Jacob Fearnley against João Fonseca, followed by an all-British clash between Emma Raducanu and Xu Mingge.

As for the matches on Court 2, Daniil Medvedev will face Benjamin Bonzi, Madison Keys will take on Elena-Gabriela Ruse, reigning finalist Jasmine Paolini will challenge Anastasija Sevastova, and Taylor Fritz will battle another French player, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, who reached the round of 16 last year in London but lost his seeded status this time.

Regarding the other French players in action on Monday, there will be seven in total. Besides Rinderknech, Bonzi, and Mpetshi Perricard, Adrian Mannarino (against Christopher O’Connell), Valentin Royer (who has an enticing match against Stefanos Tsitsipas), Diane Parry (against Petra Martic), and Varvara Gracheva (facing Aliaksandra Sasnovich) will also compete. Find the full schedule for the first day of Wimbledon below.

As we move to the end of this month and also closing out the year I am wishing all of those following me a Merry Christmas and a Happy/Healthy New Year.

Let's make that wish for all 2000 plus players hoping for 5 wins each day. Hoping ŵhen we open the results page to see all green, and no red. And especially NO CANCELED matches.

From me and my rotti JAZ, I bid you all good night, and see you in...

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.

The finals are here, and we scramble for the best finish. I've been chasing "King" all year and I was able to shrink the spread a little. Skelp is also closing the gap.

Seasons best to all the regulars in our league.

Will you all be back in the new year.?

Steffi Graf completed a Golden Slam (not just a career Grand Slam) when she was 19. She is the only person to accomplish that, winning the four majors plus Olympic gold the same calendar year.
