Alcaraz savors his qualification for the ATP Finals: "It's probably the best match I've ever played indoors"
Carlos Alcaraz delivered a very complete performance against Félix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals of the ATP Finals and will battle for the Masters title against Jannik Sinner this Sunday.
The 16th chapter of the already legendary duel between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz on the ATP Tour is scheduled for this Sunday. The two best players of the season will thus meet for the 6th time this year in official competition.
The Spaniard leads the head-to-head 10 wins to 5, and is full of confidence before facing his great rival in front of the Italian crowd. The player, who is now just one step away from his first ATP Finals title, certainly appreciated the quality of his match against Auger-Aliassime in Saturday's semifinal (6-2, 6-4 in 1h22), having hit 25 winners against 10 unforced errors.
"I think it's just the way I felt the ball on my racket... I was really electric, I could move very fast, I could move very well. I could get to the ball in a very good position every time.
That helped me a lot to gain confidence during the match. It's probably the best match I've ever played indoors, especially against someone like Félix (Auger-Aliassime), who is a very difficult player to face indoors with his serve and powerful shots.
I'm really very proud and very happy to have reached this level in the semifinals," Alcaraz assured the ATP media just minutes after securing his place in the final.
