Alcaraz takes advantage of a disappointing Auger-Aliassime to join Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros!
The clash went "pschitt". The duel between Alcaraz, still a little shaky, and a confident Auger-Aliassime smelled of gunpowder. Yet there was absolutely no match.
Highly confident, the Spaniard played his tennis with ease (6-3, 6-3, 6-1 in 2h21). Without forcing his game, the world number 3 made life easy for himself, using his heavy strokes to perfection to break a helpless Canadian. Very solid, he left a lasting impression (34 winners, 24 unforced errors).
Opposite him, Auger-Aliassime, a finalist in Madrid, had a very disappointing match. Completely out of sorts and probably physically affected, he served too poorly and made far too many errors to have any hope against an Alcaraz of this level.
So this time, it's official: there will be a Tsitsipas/Alcaraz summit clash in the quarter-finals! We can't wait!
