Moutet believes in his chances against Sinner: "Yes, I do".
At Roland Garros, Corentin Moutet is the last hope of the French camp. After a magnificent tournament in Paris, he is about to reach the last 16 for the first time at Porte d'Auteuil. Buoyed by an enthusiastic French crowd, the 78th-ranked player in the world wants to dream even higher. The only fly in the ointment is that Jannik Sinner awaits him on Sunday.
Aware of the immense challenge he faces, Moutet is not about to go out a loser. Supported by an entire nation, he hopes to use his atypical tennis to cause the world number 2 as many problems as possible.
Questioned by the press, he explained: "Driving people mad is not my main objective (smiles). I'm just trying to play my game. I've never played against him. We've never trained together. He's a great player, I've watched him play a lot, he's very aggressive. He's number 2. He's one of the best players in the world, and maybe the best right now. We'll see how it goes, but yes, I believe in it."
