Alcaraz, the third player in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam after saving one or more match points

Trailing 5-3, 40-0 on his serve in the fourth set of the Roland-Garros final, Carlos Alcaraz pulled off a minor miracle to ultimately overturn Jannik Sinner—especially since the world No. 2 had lost the first two sets of the match (4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6).

An epic comeback that will go down in tennis history, Alcaraz becoming only the third player in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam after saving one or more match points in the final. Only Gaston Gaudio in 2004 at Roland-Garros against Guillermo Coria and Novak Djokovic in 2019 at Wimbledon against Roger Federer had achieved such a feat.

Alcaraz also became the ninth player in the Open Era to win a final after being down two sets to love.

Before him, Björn Borg (Roland-Garros 1974), Ivan Lendl (Roland-Garros 1984), Andre Agassi (Roland-Garros 1999), Gaston Gaudio (Roland-Garros 2004), Dominic Thiem (US Open 2020), Novak Djokovic (Roland-Garros 2021), Rafael Nadal (Australian Open 2022), and Jannik Sinner (Australian Open 2024) had also won after overturning their opponents.

Feel for Medvedev after losing 2 finals like that. Also to add the USO he lost to Rafa. He hasn't been the same player since AO24
