Alcaraz to undergo high-intensity training before deciding on Rome
Carlos Alcaraz withdrew last week from the Madrid Masters 1000 due to discomfort in his adductors. The injury would have prevented him from performing at 100% in the Spanish capital and forced him to take a few days of rest.
As reported by Marca, the world No. 3 has now fully recovered and has resumed training, despite wearing thigh bandages (see video below). He will undergo high-intensity sessions this weekend to assess his fitness ahead of Rome.
If all goes well and the El Palmar native feels no discomfort, he will then head to Italy. However, as the Spanish outlet notes, neither the player nor his team will take any risks, as he is set to defend his 2000 points from last year’s Roland Garros title in a few weeks.
