Alcaraz Two Wins Away from a Feat Only Tennis Giants Have Achieved
At 22, Carlos Alcaraz is no longer a promise but a legend in the making. With three Masters 1000 already in hand this season, the Spaniard can join the exclusive circle of the Big 3 by achieving a historic feat: winning four or even five Masters 1000 in a single year. A grand scenario still possible in 2025, which thrills the tennis world.
Already victorious in Monte-Carlo, Rome, and Cincinnati in 2025, the prodigy has claimed three Masters 1000 titles this season, a triple he had never achieved before.
But this may only be the beginning. With Shanghai and Paris-Bercy still to be played, Alcaraz has a rare opportunity: to become the fourth player in history to win four Masters 1000 titles or more in the same season. A feat that only Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer, the members of the Big 3, have accomplished since the official creation of the Masters 1000 in 1990.
For now, Novak Djokovic remains untouchable with his 6 Masters 1000 titles in 2015. Rafael Nadal (5 titles in 2013) and Djokovic again (5 in 2011) complete this golden pantheon. Roger Federer also reached the threshold of 4 titles in 2006.
Carlos Alcaraz can still reach 4 or even 5 titles in 2025. But be careful, neither Shanghai nor Paris has seen him triumph yet. These two tournaments, along with Canada, remain the only Masters 1000 absent from his record. A significant challenge, but also a tremendous opportunity to cement his place among the legends.
If Alcaraz manages to win one of the remaining two tournaments, he will write a page of history. But if he wins both, Shanghai and Paris, he will end 2025 with 5 Masters 1000 titles, thus equaling Nadal and Djokovic.
