Alcaraz widens the gap with Djokovic and is just one set away from the US Open final!
Carlos Alcaraz continues his forward march during the US Open semifinal against Novak Djokovic.
After comfortably winning the first set, the world No. 2 was challenged in the second, trailing 3-0 to his opponent. But he quickly erased the break deficit before taking control in a tie-break, winning 7-4.
Djokovic gave the New York crowd a few thrills, but Alcaraz proved more clinical at the end of the set to lead 6-4, 7-6, putting him just one set away from a second US Open final after 2022.
The Serbian took a medical timeout at the end of the set to receive treatment for his neck.
